About Us

Hi! I’m Danielle, the voice behind Finding Silver Pennies, a lifestyle brand that began as a blog filled with easy entertaining ideas, pretty watercolors, effortless home decor, and DIY inspiration.

My creative journey began in 2011 which led me to discover a world of creativity I didn’t know was inside me – never before had I picked up a paint brush or a camera! It is my goal to help readers discover the creativity inside themselves. Many times we don’t try something new because of fear of failure.

Prior to blogging I worked in film and TV production in London and Boston. I loved coming up with marketing and program ideas.

Through the blog, I discovered a passion for painting watercolors and furnitureI wrote an eBook all about the paints I love and included loads of techniques I’ve perfected over the years. In November 2019 I launched this online shop to highlight my watercolor art and photography; selling note cards and home decor prints.  I helped our oldest son create Ink Harbour Illustrations, to sell his art.

We enjoy coming up with ideas together. John enjoys drawing on his tablet and painting with acrylics. In his spare time he works at our local bookstore, writes for the high school magazine, and is active in the drama and art departments at school. My happy place is at the beach with my camera or sitting in our sunroom painting watercolors.

We're always coming up with new ideas to try. Like our calendarsstickers, and tea towels. Our art is now available as wallpaper and fabric, see more here.  Working together and being inspired to create in our coastal town is a dream come true!

The canvas for all my projects is our home, a 1927 Dutch colonial in Scituate Harbor. I share my home with my husband, two sons, and two rescue dogs.
